Some time ago I stumbled at CGSociety’s entry on Uplift Universe challenge which really impressed me. You can watch it by yourself here
Animated job was done by Grzegorz Jonkajtys, a fellow Polish artist who now works at CafeFX. I made a quick search about Grzegorz other works and soon I discovered that he’s a trully master at what he does. Having worked on many big movies such as Pan’s Labirynth or more recent Mist (both which I really love) he showed what he’s best at. And keep in mind that he was actually a lead animator in some of those films, so that’s a strong one.
Grzegorz is also maker of an impressive short 3D called The Ark which was created along with Marcin Kobylecki of Platige Studio. Yep, the one in which actually Tomek Baginski works (maker of The Cathedral). It’s a small world isn’t it?
I actually wrote a short message to Grzegorz asking if he has some interviews with him about his work. I was really enjoing myself reading and watching those materials. I hope you will too!
